Amtrak NEC Infrastructure and Investment Development
As Amtrak’s Director Business Development-Major Project Partnerships, Marilyn is responsible for the coordination and program management of major rail infrastructure projects along Amtrak’s Northeast Corridor that involve state and commuter partners and Amtrak. In this role, she is Amtrak’s lead negotiator in all stages of the project including project planning, scope development, execution of contracts and coordination of Amtrak force account (manpower) support. She has held this role since 2003 and in addition to working on the successful PA Keystone Corridor Improvement Program (KCIP), she is currently responsible for major projects in Pennsylvania, New York and Maryland that total over $700 million. These include the Moynihan Station Phase I project in New York City, replacement of the aged Baltimore tunnel and Susquehanna River Bridge in Maryland, the upstate New York City, replacement of the aged Baltimore tunnel and Susquehanna River Bridge in Maryland, the upstate New York High Speed Rail Program which includes track, Signal and station improvements from Albany to Rochester NY, replacement of state interlocking in Harrisburg PA and SEPTA’s Levittown, Exton and Villanova stations currently in construction. Prior to her current role she was a senior contracting agent in Amtrak’s procurement department and before joining Amtrak in 1999 she worked in the nuclear power and manufacturing industries holding professional positions in production planning, procurement and project management.
Marilyn is a graduate of Duke University and she and her husband have 3 adult children. She contributes her success to maintaining a positive outgoing attitude and fostering a sense of teamwork and camaraderie amongst stakeholders.
